Child and Youth Education

Early Childhood Education

Early childhood education is an important stage in children’s life because it is when they first learn how to interact with others and also begin to develop fields of interest that will stay with them throughout their lives. This program is aimed to expose young Palestinian children and youth to new learning opportunities while coping with living in conflict. Children are exposed to learning critical social and emotional skills that help them coping with frustration. anger and inequality and give them a platform for building a higher self-esteem, leadership traits and a hope for a brighter future. The program facilitates the following classes:

  1. Weekly art classes for children ages 5 to 13. The activities expose the children to many art materials including paint, clay, chalk, markers, crayons, glue and playdough. It helps them express their feelings in non-verbal forms and enhances their creativity.
  2. English classes for children and youth. It allows them to integrate into the general society, acquire higher education and increase their chances of earning a decent living.
  3. Ping Pong classes for youth. It allows them to develop leadership skills, build self-esteem and confidence. It also serves as a place for them to have fun and enjoyment.

This project is a joint venture with Roots-Shorashim-Judur and facilitated by Marc Maisel and Orit Segev Bar Halevy.
