Intercultural Events
A joint event with the Abrahamic Movement that was held in October 2019 with the purpose of celebrating the Sukkot Holiday in a special Sukkah that was located at the entry to Husan.
The Sukkah walls were made of local fabric and decorated with traditional Palestinian decorations. Pots and pans were specially purchased from Beitar Illit and were made kosher in the local Mikveh. Local Palestinian dishes as Makloubeh were cooked and served. The guests were a mixed crowd of Palestinians and Israelis – both religious and secular. The event included Muslim and Jewish prayers and ended with a show of local Palestinian musicians that played traditional instruments. This gathering touched many people’s hearts. It planted a seed of hope that shared communities and coexistence are possible. This was a successful experience and we are looking to organize many similar ones.
